Startup’s Breakthrough Energy-Saving Technology Chosen for Prestigious Event
BROOMFIELD, Colo. — October 30, 2015 Frontline Aerospace, a Colorado startup recently bucked venture financing trends by raising $2 million with no revenues, was chosen out of hundreds of applicants to present at the National Renewable Energy Lab’s 2015 Industry Growth Forum. The Forum selected Frontline to showcase their gas turbine efficiency innovations to potential investors, venture capitalists and possible strategic partners. This is one of the most prestigious cleantech investment events in the world, which convenes over 400 leading investors, corporations and energy executives for two days of pitches by clean energy startups.
Frontline was one of thirty competitively selected companies to receive an invitation to present. This was the fourth time Frontline has submitted to the NREL growth forum, and in business persistence pays off,” said Wood, Frontline’s CEO.
“In the end I think what swayed the judges was our patent portfolio, outstanding management team, multi-billion dollar markets, and well written proposal,” said Wood. “The notion that private equity and venture capital actually invest at capital conferences or forums for more than one percent of the competitively selected presenting companies is grossly naive. As one entrepreneur to another, keep focusing on your business, keep investing your money until the right and reasonable deal presents itself,” said Wood.
Frontline will present as part of the Transportation & Enabling Technologies portion of the event, demonstrating the company’s two bolt-on retrofit products – the MicroFire™ recuperator and the IsoCool™ compressor these products can increase power and reduce fuel consumption by 10 to 40 percent for tens of thousands of gas-turbine engines.
“By using advanced manufacturing and materials to increase heat transfer and combustion processes, Frontline is bringing fuel efficiency benefits to marketplace. If the proof-of-concept results are even half right, will be truly disruptive to a multi-billion-dollar industry,” said Lt. Gen. Timothy A. Kinnan, 34-year Air Force veteran, former Lockheed vice president, and advisor on Frontline’s board.
